Clare and the Reasons are heading back into the studio today!
There will be songs about bees, time, being lost in Paris, Kyoto and more obvious things too, like parallel universes.
They will be recording in Brooklyn, sometimes in pajamas, sometimes in suits. (jump suits maybe)
Stay tuned for updates, pics and possibly some video showing the process.
Clare will be writing a sentence, or simply a word, each day after recording, something that sums up that day, might be musical, might be about how her burrito came with onions, but she asked for no onions, it will be like a baby baby blog. Check back daily for that.
You can expect to see Clare and the Reasons’ sophomore release late Sept. 2009!

Suspended In The Rusty Moans Of The Theremin Birds
Words by Sean Moeller // Illustration by Johnnie Cluney // Sound engineering by Mike Gentry
The following should not be considered torturous, at least not in this circumstance: getting painlessly saran wrapped to a long and thick wing of a windmill, an old one that’s sturdy as it holds, but gives off a good and rusty moan every time it lumbers through another revolution. It would be good to be attached to that oar-like wand, with your head on the bottom side of it, as far away from the epicenter as possible so that you could feel the full rush of the movement in a circle, the spinning as gracefully and easy as it could possibly be in the belly of a modest, almost charming wind. Around and around you would go, the blood flowing like a flash into your eyes and sinuses and then letting up as you turn, pulled by gravity around the bend.

Portland, Ore., is lousy with folk acts, but Musée Mécanique distinguish themselves from the throng by ignoring Americana influences and infusing their brand of intimate melancholia with lush arrangements and electronic underpinnings. While they may not sound like other bands in their local scene, Micah Rabwin and Sean Ogilvie’s collective is clearly an integral part of it. Witness their delicate, affecting debut, Hold This Ghost, which features contributions from fine hometown musicians like Laura Gibson and Norfolk & Western’s Rachel Blumberg. “Dreamlike” –VENUSzine
“Few recent releases approach the textural and musically detailed devotion of Musée Mécanique’s debut long-player, Hold This Ghost…masterfully assembled like a musical ship-in-a-bottle via thrift store instruments, castaway equipment, and just about anything else the band could get their hands on.” – Portland Mercury
“Like the French duo Air, Musée Mécanique creates far-reaching songs out of a host of disparate instruments” – Willamette Week
